Our five days in Canada were fun, and we very much enjoyed the experience. We managed a trip to Niagara falls, and the mandatory trip up the CN tower, plus some shopping and site seeing around Toronto.
It feels like we have not stopped since arriving in the UK just before Christmas. We spent Christmas with Maria's sister and her family. Her parents came over from Mallorca (with a leg of smoked ham in their luggage!). Pedro, Maria's brother also joined the crowd, breaking away from his university studies and work in Manchester.
We lament not having got round to updating the blog earlier. At the same time we have been very encouraged by the fact that so many people read it and make use of the materials we have put on it. As a result, we hope to improve both content and presentation over the coming months!
At the time of writing this update we have completed 8 of our 11 Church visits, involving 12 talks/sermons, and a lot of informal chats with a broad range of people. We have also managed to fit in a 4 day break in the Lake District, a 3 day staff conference with SAMS on the south coast, visits to doctors, and a series of wonderful lunches or dinners with friends around the country!
Healthwise, Maria was diagnosed with salmonella, which explains why she has not felt totally well for the past couple of months or so. This is an infection she picked up in Argentina a while back. Thankfully she has responded well to treatment, and is now feeling a lot better. The kids have enjoyed most of their time here, though there have been moments of boredom as we have been too occupied to be able to do things with them (such as get to see a show in London).

We are enjoying the loan of a house in St Albans, which has been provided by Carl and Vicky, members of our old home group, who are currently on sabbatical in New Zealand. Mike and Gabby have provided a vehicle, computer and other essentials, which have helped enormously in allowing us to undertake our deputation work. Bill and Ann Mercer have kindly lent us a video projector, which has been a great help in giving talks.
Time is slipping by fast, and we are now into the last three weeks of our two-month stay. There has not been much time to fit in more leisurely activities, and we regret not having more time to spend with family. Maria’s parents are now based in Mallorca. We saw them briefly over Christmas, and we have yet to see if we can manage a short visit there before we depart back to Argentina.
Our departure date is on the 20th February. We will stopover in Washington DC for a three-night breather of sorts, and eventually arrive in Buenos Aires on the 24th. We fly on to Salta the same day, as the kids need to prepare for school, which starts on the 26th February.
We post some specific items of prayer under the prayer pointer link.

Maria, Andrew
it was really good to meet with you today in Long Buckby. Our conversations have given me much to think about.
Perhaps what I'm pondering about most is our continual desire to have/provide answers and solutions. When, sometimes it's just right to 'be there' in amidst. so to speak.
I'm not sure what I think about that but I do know that I love it when people get me to explore ideas. That was the gift both of you gave me today, thanks.
keep well
Caroline Ramsey
